Our case studies take a closer look into the design and manufacturing process. See how signs are made.
The process of making a sign can be easy, sometimes difficult, when we were asked by Bodyscene to replace their existing outdoor signage with new ones, a normal busy Friday became a hectic one.
Figure 13: Applying the vinyls.
The main sign consisted of an aluminium composite board that we the coated with grey vinyl for its background colour. We then applied a reflective blue vinyl for the Bodyscene logo so that the sign would be visible at night from light reflection. Two of these were created.
Figure 14: Attachment of the rails.
The sign would be mounted on powder coated steel posts, so rails had to be mounted on the back of these signs in order to attach them to the posts.
Figure 15: The mounting and cementing of the poles.
On site the steel poles were mounted and concreted into the ground, here is where the two signs would be placed.
Figure 16: The Bodyscene sign posts.
It was crucial that the signs were set at the right height, this took some time to do since each sign has to be checked visually from a distance so that they corresponded with each other correctly.
Figure 17: Promotional Bodyscence banner.
Wooden frames was created in the workshop for two printed banners to be attached upon. Again these frames had to be sunk into the ground and concreted for rigid support. For easy installation we attached the banner whilst the frame was on the floor due to the inaccessible height of its final position.

As you can see both jobs went according to our plan. Both the banner and signs helped in gaining the attention of onlookers. A job well done
